![]() GrimGrimoire draws very obviously from the gameplay of the Atelier series and the premiseand aesthetics of Harry Potter. Along the way, she'll delve into the history of the school and discover dark secrets about practically every member of the facility, including herself. Lillet is soon killed as well, but suddenly finds herself in a "Groundhog Day" Loop, thrust back to her very first day in school but retaining all the knowledge she learned in the meantime.Īfter taking the sensible approach of alerting her teachers, only for it to result in spectacular failure, Lillet realizes that her only chance of averting her fate and escaping the time loop is to do it all herself. There she meets an eclectic ensemble of students and teachers- the mysterious and bearded old headmaster, the sarcastic and Obviously Evil Sorcery teacher, and the cold but perceptive honour student, to name a few- and learns about the four schools of Glamour, Necromancy, Sorcery and Alchemy.Įverything is going swimmingly until the fifth day, when Lillet awakens to find that everyone is dead and that a sinister evil has been unleashed from within the school. It tells the tale of a magically-gifted child called Lillet Blan, who gains admission to a renowned Wizarding School called the Tower of Silver Star. One True Pairing: Lillet X Amoretta, unsurprisingly given the Les Yay between them.GrimGrimoire is a 2007 Real-Time Strategy game for PS2, brought to you by Vanillaware and Nippon Ichi.Something from this that adds to the above is that Amorretta giving her live to incinerate him doesn't piss off Grimmlet nearly as much as Lillet scamming him. Amoretta's Heroic Sacrifices in 3rd and 4th loops against Grimmlet, which both have her giving a good Heroism Motive Speech (different motives for both).Moment of Awesome: Lillet conning TWO Big Bads by making one kill the other and the other one suffer in hell for all eternity. To make matters worse, you're introduced to them in a mission where you can only use Necromancy and you have to fight a lot of slow, fragile, Astral units as if the game was trying to trick you in to thinking that Skull Mages weren't a massive waste of mana. ![]() Except they have a so-so ranged attack that can only hurt Astral units and a spell to temporarily transform enemy units into Astral units, therefore making it harder for your other units to do damage. Low-Tier Letdown: Skull Mages are slow, relatively expensive, have low HP, and are the only Necromancy unit that isn't Astral so you'd think that they would have an amazing offense or some sort of tactically powerful ability to compensate for all of that. ![]() Plus Amoretta in the 4th loop sacrifices herself to save Lillet, and notes how she enjoyed the time she had with her. Lillet at one point says that the thing Amoretta lacks is love, and that she will give as much as she wants, and a scene showing they slept together. While some of this stems from Lillet's desire to save everyone, her relationship with Amoretta goes even further.
